IRCC to Remove LMIA-Based Job Offer Points from Express Entry

Express Entry candidates will soon no longer receive additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points for having a job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Previously, such job offers added 50 or 200 CRS points, often crucial for securing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced this policy change on December 17, though its implementation date remains unclear.

As of December 18, the online CRS calculator still reflects the existing points system. Further updates are expected as details unfold.
